Teresa Romero Ramos says she reported her ebola symptoms to health authorities, but was only given paracetamol as treatment.
The Spanish nurse was taken to a hospital in Madrid with the Ebola virus after treating a patient who later died of the illness, says she told authorities atleast three times about her fever before they finally put her in quarantine.
Currently, Teresa is the first patient to have caught the virus outside of West Africa.
She first contacted authorities about her symptoms on the 30th of September, complaining of fatigue and high fever.
Teresa then called a specialist service who advice her to go to visit her local clinic as her temperature had not reached 38.6C and was reportedly given paracetamol.
Days later, she called the hospital again and no action was taken.
On the third attempt, Teresa Romero Ramos was admitted into hospital where she warned staff of her fears of contracting the Ebola virus.
Teresa, 44 and her husband Javier Limón remain in quarantine.
The Spanish authorities are currently monitoring over 50 people believed to have Ebola symptoms.
