Oscar Pistorius sentenced to 5 years in prison for killing Girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp

Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for the death of Reeva Steenkamp, as his seven month trial finally came to a conclusion.

The South African athlete was sentenced at Pretoria’s High Court for the killing of his girlfriend Ms Steenkamp, after being cleared of murder but convicted of culpable homicide.

In her sentencing, Judge Masipa ruled a non-custodial sentence would send the wrong sentence to the community, but a long sentence would not be appropriate because it would appear to lack mercy.

I personally feel like this is not enough. In America, people get way more prison time for crimes such as theft and gun possession. 

It saddens my heart that there is such little justice over such a crime. 

I guess if you have money you can really get away with so many things.

Pistorius family statement

Oscar Pistorius’s uncle, Arnold Pistorius, is addressing reporters outside the court.

Today a new season starts for us as a family … Not just the Pistorius family alone, but the Steenkamp family.

It has been a harrowing 20 months. We are all emotionally drained and exhausted.

The case that was set down for three weeks originally has been dragged out for seven months – in fact, for 20 months [since the bail hearing].

In the process, [the state] decided to inflict as much collateral damage as they could, by keeping the cloud of premeditated murder as long as possible … The truth became totally irrelevant to the state’s case to make premeditated murder stick.

We accept the judgment. Oscar will embrace this opportunity to pay back to society.

I appeal to all of you as the media to accept the ruling of the court. After 20 months of relentless public trial, I would ask you … to let us move forward … and give us some degree of dignity and privacy as we do so.

I want to say something as an uncle. I hope Oscar will start his own healing process as we walk down the path of restoration. As a family we are ready to support and guide Oscar as he serves his sentence.

Please understand that I don’t want to take any questions.

Legendary designer Oscar de la rents has died

Such sad news. A family member has confirmed that designer Oscar De la Renta has died at age 86. 

Oscar recently designed Amal Clononey's wedding dress. He was previously diagnosed with cancer in 2006.

Prayers and love go out to his family and friends at this sad time. May his soul rest in peace.

Oh dear!! Why do people become so bitter after breakup? Like what is the need? In my opinion it just makes you look so petty and immature. 

Yes I know we've all said negative things about exes when things end but some people take it waaaaay too far! 

Wiz Khalifa and Future have just dropped a new song called 'P*ssy Overrated' where they rap about an ex who thinks she's 'all that' when she's not. Ermmm excuse me, wasn't future the same one that released that trophies song where he was gushing about how he won a trophy? Praising ciara up and down? 

But now that it's over, her vagina is overrated? Like come on.. Sit down! 

And Wiz shouldn't be taking at all when he knows fine well he cries himself to sleep over Amber LOL 

In the song, wiz raps "Rich ni**a get you, he'll never put nothing above you...every time I see you I don't never want nothing from you." YEAH RIGH WIZ! 

Another thing I hate about society is double standards. If it was a female releasing these kinds of song, they'd be saying "oh she's just another angry, bitter black woman" but because it's these two clowns, everyone is praising them. 

 

Lil Wayne also released a song last night called 'Take Kare' where he disses ALL his baby mama and talks about how they're jealous of his girl because he takes care of her. SHUT UP! Here's  the rap :

Oh no! Looks like there's trouble in paradise for Singer Omarion and his baby mama Apryl Jones. 

Word on the media streets is that Omarion just broke up with Miss Jones over her refusal to give him a DNA test after his mother has been speaking in his ear about the child's DNA.

According to Omarion's mother, the baby looks 'too Biracial' and nothing like Omarion, which led to him asking Aprly for a DNA test and she kept telling him no.

I mean honestly speaking, this woman JUST had a baby, of course she will be insulted that her beloved boyfriend is questioning her loyalty and the paternity of his brand new baby.

As you can tell from the title of this post, I'm going to to talk about MEN!,with special emphasis on what I like to refer to as the 'superwoman' syndrome. You know.. that thing most of us women do where we think we can fix and tame a man who isn't ready to commit? Yup.. You're guilty of it huh? I know! 

Ok first of ladies, I'm here to remind you that you can NOT raise a man. Any man that isn't ready to commit, will certainly not do so because you're pressuring and forcing him to, and if he does.. It's only for a temporary period because he wants to keep get 'it' and by 'it' I'm talking about your lady garden. Yes.. I said lady garden! 

If you've ever had to say these following sentences, that man is NOT ready to commit! 

• "So,where do you see the future taking us?" 

• "What are we now?" (After you've given him your lady garden) 

•"babe, where is this going?"

•"Do You love me?"

See where I'm going with this? Ok. I hope so. What I'm saying may seem harsh, but the truth be like that sometimes *american accent*

You will NEVER EVER have to question the loyalty of any man that's serious about you. When it's real, you know and it shows in his actions. Once you constantly have to question where you stand and your position in his life, you've lost the game. It is then time to bow out gracefully and move on... 

Do not Nag

Do not act desperate

Do not try trap him 

And do NOT act bitter and petty!

A good, deserving man will do the right thing when it's time. 

And always remember, his lack of commitment is not your fault. And it's not your job to change his mind honey..

Know and remember your worth.
